      This is a Page dedicated to the Balquhidder Lochearnhead and Strathyre Community Council known as BLS Community Council. The Community Council was reestablished on Wednesday 27th March 2019 at a meeting held in Balquhidder Village Hall.

      Our Mission Based in the heart of Scotland's first National Park, some 25 miles northwest of Stirling, the Trust’s aims and objectives are to benefit the local communities in the Balquhidder, Lochearnhead and Strathyre area by:- • Providing facilities for recreation and other leisure time activities. • Preserving, restoring and improving the environment in the community area by the provision of public open spaces and other public amenities and regeneration projects. • Managing community land and associated assets for the benefit of the community and the public in general, for sustainable development of Scotland’s natural environment. • Promoting education and opportunities for learning for the benefit of the general public, and in particular to raise awareness and interest in the local environment and heritage. • Relieving the needs of people who are elderly or who are otherwise in need of care within the community. Associated Organisations: Balquhidder Village Hall Committee Strathyre Music Festival Community Partnership Community Council The Loch Earn Tourism Initiative Group Description The Trust is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, established on 23rd January 2007. Unlike the Community Council, the Trust can apply for grants. It can own property, employ staff, and operate community-based businesses. Working with elected bodies such as Stirling Council, the Community Council and the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Authority, the Trust can be the organisation to turn the desires of the community into reality. It is not just a lobbying body but can make a material difference to projects by sourcing funding.     • Smart Strathyre Development Page
      This page is a page dedicated to the development of the Smart Strathyre Digital Portal. Ideas are invited from the Strathyre villagers on information they would like to see added to the portal in the future. Smart Strathyre is the first smart village in Scotland and the village has the opportunity to drive new ideas and suggestions that may help influence the design of the portal for the future to serve the needs not only of Strathyre, but may also help other Villages throughout Rural Scotland.

    • Strathyre Crafternoons
      A group based in Strathyre that meet on Sunday afternoons (every two weeks) throughout the year to produce a wide variety of crafts. Sessions are organised by Janet Richards who runs the village shop in Strathyre and support is provided by Archie Scott. Do You Paint draw or Create things? In September 2019, A Community event will be held in the Village hall Strathyre which will serve at as an Art and Craft Hub for the Perthshire Open Studios. The event will showcase creativity in the area. Works will be for sale or for show. If you are interested in this event, please pop into the Village Shop leaving your name, address and telephone number or pass details to Archie Scott at archie@zoolou.co.uk The next Crafternoon will be held on 31st March (Mothers Day ) at the dining room of the White Stag Inn. Starting at 2 pm.
